Managing cybersecurity compliance doesn't have to be a manual or chaotic process. With HacWare’s Policy Manager, businesses and IT leaders can create, distribute, and track employee acknowledgment of security policies all in one place.
In this article, we’ll walk you through how to use the Policy Manager and why it’s a critical part of your compliance workflow.
Why Policies Matter to Compliance and Your Organization
Policies are more than just documentation. They are the foundation of your organization’s security posture. Frameworks like SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 all require formal policies that govern how employees handle sensitive data, devices, remote access, and more.
Without written and acknowledged policies:
Your organization is at risk of non-compliance and audit failure.
Employees may act inconsistently, creating security gaps.
You lack evidence to show regulators or customers that your security program is real.
That’s where HacWare’s Policy Manager comes in. Watch the Policy Manager Video to see it in action.
How to Create a New Policy
Creating a policy inside HacWare is quick and easy. You can start from scratch or customize an existing template.
Steps to create a new policy:
Log in to the HacWare Client Portal.
Click on Policy from the left menu.
Select Management.
Click on Create New Policy.
Add a title, paste your policy content, and click Save.
Your policy is now live and ready to distribute to your team. To edit the policy, select the pencil icon next to the policy name.
How to Send a Policy for Signature
Once your policy is created, you can send it to employees to sign and acknowledge.
Steps to send a policy:
Go to Policy → Management.
Click on Pick Your Polices.
Select the policy or policies you want to send.
Choose the team members who need to sign.
Click Submit, then select Confirm.
That’s it! Your employees will receive an email with a link to sign the policy. The system will also automatically send reminder emails every 4 days to anyone who hasn’t signed yet.
How to Track Policy Signatures
Need to know who signed what—and when?
Steps to track status:
Go to the Reports tab.
Select Policy Report.
You’ll see a full breakdown of policy activity, including:
Which users signed
The date they signed
Pending acknowledgments
This makes it easy to stay audit-ready and follow up as needed.
How End Users Sign Policies
HacWare makes it simple for your users to view and sign policies.
Two easy ways for employees to sign:
Via email: They’ll receive an email with a direct link to view and sign the policy.
