The Weekly Phishing Simulation Report Has Been Redesigned

We’re excited to announce a fresh new look and a new name for HacWare’s Weekly Phishing Simulation Report.
Beginning Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the Weekly Phishing Simulation Report will be renamed the Simulation Failure Report. The new name better reflects the report’s purpose: providing administrators with actionable information when an employee fails a phishing simulation.
Along with the new name, we’ve completely redesigned the report to make important information easier to understand and act on.
The redesigned Simulation Failure Report was built around one goal: make it easier for security teams to understand what happened, identify who may need additional support, and see what HacWare is already doing about it.
Existing administrators do not need to make any changes. The Simulation Failure Report replaces the Weekly Phishing Simulation Report and will automatically use the new name and redesigned experience beginning with the September 23 release.

A Clearer View of Your Current Campaign
One of the biggest improvements is how campaign information is presented.
The redesigned report clearly separates your Current Campaign from the Reporting Period covered by the weekly report.
You can quickly see:
The current campaign dates
How many users have already been sent simulations
How many users are still scheduled
The exact reporting period represented by the weekly results
Why this matters: A phishing campaign can span multiple weeks. Separating the overall campaign from the weekly reporting period gives administrators better context for the numbers they are reviewing.
Weekly Results at a Glance

Instead of requiring administrators to interpret information spread throughout the report, the redesigned experience highlights key weekly metrics at the top.
You can immediately see Simulations Sent This Week, Failures This Week, and the Weekly Failure Rate.
Why this matters: Security teams can quickly understand their organization's weekly performance without digging through individual records.
More Context Around Every Simulation Failure
We’ve also redesigned the employee failure section.
Instead of simply identifying that a simulation failed, the new report provides additional context, including:
Employee • Reason • Topic • Date • Device • Training Status
For example, administrators can distinguish between behaviors such as clicking a link, opening an attachment, or responding to an email.
Why this matters: Not every phishing failure represents the same behavior. Understanding how an employee interacted with a simulation helps security teams better understand human risk.
Corrective Training Is Now Easier to Understand
The redesigned report makes HacWare’s automated corrective-training workflow much more visible.
When an employee fails a phishing simulation, HacWare can automatically enroll that employee in relevant corrective training based on the behavior that caused the failure.
The report now clearly communicates when training has already been assigned.
Why this matters: Administrators don't have to wonder what to do next—or manually assign training that HacWare has already handled.
A Cleaner, More Actionable Experience
The new design uses clearer sections, stronger visual hierarchy, easy-to-read metrics, and a direct path to the HacWare dashboard.
This isn't simply a visual refresh.
The goal is to turn the Weekly Phishing Simulation Report from an email containing results into a report that answers three important questions:
What happened this week?
Who needs attention?
What is HacWare already doing about it?
Your Branding, Front and Center

The report continues to support organization-specific branding so that the experience feels familiar to the people receiving it. Your organization's logo can appear directly within the report, creating a more consistent security-awareness experience.
Availability and Report Frequency
The redesigned Weekly Phishing Simulation Report will be released this Wednesday as part of the HacWare reporting experience. There is nothing additional administrators need to configure to begin receiving the redesigned report.
When Is the Report Sent?
The Weekly Phishing Simulation Report is currently scheduled to be sent every Wednesday at 8:00 AM Central Time.
However, the report is only generated and sent when at least one phishing simulation failure is detected during the weekly reporting period. If no employees fail a phishing simulation during that period, administrators will not receive an email.
This approach helps reduce unnecessary notifications and ensures that when the report arrives, there is information that may require your attention.
Who Receives the Report?
The report is sent from hello@hacware.com.
By default, the email is sent to the organization's Security Email Contact configured in the HacWare Client Portal. HacWare will also CC users with the ADMIN role who are configured for access within the Dashboard Access menu.
How to Update Report Recipients
To change the primary recipient of the Weekly Phishing Simulation Report:
Settings → Company Profile → Security Contact
Update the Security Contact with the email address that should receive the report.
To review or modify the administrators who are copied on the report, navigate to the Dashboard Access menu and review the users listed in the table with the ADMIN role.
No Additional Setup Required
Existing customers do not need to enable the redesigned report or change their phishing simulation configuration.
Beginning with the new release, qualifying weekly reports will automatically use the redesigned experience.
We hope the new report makes it easier to understand phishing simulation results, identify employee risk, monitor corrective training, and continue building a stronger security culture.
Security awareness made simple.
